Taifa Gas nears launch of Sh16bn LPG terminal in Mombasa set to be East Africa's largest Business 23 min ago

By GhanaSummary NewsroomKenya

A Sh16 billion liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) import terminal nearing completion at the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone in Mombasa is poised to reshape Kenya's cooking gas market, challenge decades of dominance by two bulk importers, and establish Mombasa as East Africa's leading LPG logistics hub.

Government officials believe the terminal will strengthen Kenya's role in regional energy trade while accelerating industrialisation within the Special Economic Zone.

Once commissioned, the facility will become East Africa's largest LPG storage terminal, with an initial capacity of 30,000 metric tonnes housed in 12 spherical pressurised tanks.
