Sleeping on your left side may trigger more nightmares – Study

By Sola Ogundipe People who sleep on their left side may be more prone to nightmares than those who favour their right side, according to research that has revived interest in the relationship between sleeping position and the way the brain processes dreams.

Although evidence remains preliminary, switching from the left side to the right side during sleep may help reduce disturbing dreams in some individuals.

By contrast, participants who preferred sleeping on their left side were significantly more likely to describe disturbing dreams.
