She fled Iran. America sent her to Africa

By GhanaSummary NewsroomEgypt

This year the US has given a surprisingly large $85 million to the UN’s International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) operations in the Central African Republic, up from just a few million in previous years, as well as committing an additional $50 million to the country’s Humanitarian Fund.

A second deportation flight to the country left the US on July 31, this time carrying 31 deportees, and there’s a fear among the migrants that, as accommodation runs out, they will be forcibly repatriated to their countries of origin.

Why the Central African Republic agreed to accept migrants from the US is still something of a mystery.
