Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan has accepted the resignation of Vice-President Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, setting in motion a constitutional process to find his successor after less than a year in office.
A statement issued on Tuesday by Chief Secretary Moses Kusiluka said: "President Samia has received the resignation request from the Vice-President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Ambassador Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, effective 4 September 2026.
