The judgment brings to a close a dispute that, according to the court, has denied the registered owners access to their property for more than 12 years, despite earlier criminal proceedings against the former Mungiki leader over his occupation of the land.

Article Former Mungiki leader Ndura Waruinge has been ordered to vacate more than a dozen plots of land in Kajiado County after a court found that he had unlawfully occupied the property for more than 12 years.

Environment and Land Court Judge Judy Omange ruled in favour of landowners Jane Wanjiku Waweru and Kirumba Mwaura, saying they had proved ownership of the land while Mr Waruinge failed to challenge their case.
