By Musa Ubandawaki, Sokoto The Sokoto State Police Command has on Wednesday intensified its crackdown on kidnapping and other violent crimes, recording major breakthroughs in separate intelligence-led operations that led to the arrest of two suspected kidnappers and the dramatic rescue of a 10-year-old boy abducted in Tangaza Local Government Area.” Police authorities said preliminary interrogation revealed that Buba was allegedly a key member of a criminal syndicate linked to a series of kidnapping operations and the illegal imposition of levies on residents in Gwadabawa, Kware and Gada local government areas.

In the first operation, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, acting on credible intelligence, stormed a suspected criminal hideout at Tudun Doki Village in Gwadabawa Local Government Area at about 2:00 pm on August 8, 2026.
