Police have confirmed the arrest of 13 students during protests at Rhodes University’s graduation ceremony in Makhanda in the Eastern Cape on Friday morning.

SAPS spokesperson Nobuntu Gantana says Public Order Police used stun grenades and rubber bullets to disperse about 100 protesters who had gathered outside the graduation venue.
