
PM reviews Egypt’s energy supply plan, stresses priority of energy security
During a meeting in New Alamein City with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, Madbouly stressed the importance of continued coordination among relevant authorities and the implementation of plans to increase domestic production and accelerate the development of new discoveries to strengthen energy security, maximize the use of Egypt’s natural resources and reinforce the country’s position as a regional energy trading hub.
Badawi also said shipments of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and petroleum fuels are arriving on schedule to ensure the continuous operation of power generation facilities during the peak summer demand period, maintaining stable electricity supplies nationwide through ongoing coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt, the Finance Ministry, the Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry and other relevant authorities.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reaffirmed that securing Egypt’s energy needs remains a top government priority as part of efforts to ensure the sustainable supply of petroleum products and natural gas to all sectors.
