PM declares Thursday, August 27 official holiday marking Prophet Muhammad’s birthday

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decision on Monday, August 17, 2026, declaring Thursday, August 27, an official paid holiday on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (Mawlid al-Nabawi al-Sharif), instead of Tuesday, August 25, which falls on the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, 1448 AH.

Examinations, if any, will continue to be held according to the schedules set by the competent authorities.
