
Pioneering Egyptian professor Alia Abdel Fattah receives Gold Medal for Global Impact in Nuclear Cardiology
In a landmark triumph for Egyptian medicine, the Professor of Critical Care Medicine at Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine and former head of the department, Alia Hasan Abdel Fattah, has been selected to receive the prestigious 2026 Gold Medal for Global Impact in Nuclear Cardiology.
She was also one of the first female physicians worldwide to successfully bridge the gap between nuclear cardiology applications and acute critical care medicine, dramatically expanding diagnostic and therapeutic pathways for high-risk patients.
Throughout her illustrious academic and research journey, she established the Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (Nuclear Medicine) Unit within Kasr Al-Ainy’s Critical Care Department.
