NCAA urges Reps to restore 65% TSC share to strengthen aviation safety

By GhanaSummary NewsroomNigeria

By Nnasom David ABUJA — The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has urged the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation to restore its original 65 per cent share of the five per cent Ticket Sales Charge (TSC) and Cargo Sales Charge (CSC), warning that any further reduction could weaken Nigeria’s aviation safety oversight and undermine compliance with international standards.

He added that, beyond regulating the aviation sector, the NCAA is responsible for meeting Nigeria’s financial obligations to international and regional aviation organisations, including the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the Banjul Accord Group Aviation Safety Oversight Organisation (BAGASOO) and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC).

He said these revenue sources are consistent with the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) funding model for Air Navigation Service Providers.
