Magistrate orders police to probe senator over ‘kill Accord members’ comment

By GhanaSummary NewsroomNigeria

A magistrate in Abuja has directed the Nigeria Police Force to investigate a direct criminal complaint filed against the senator representing Osun East, Francis Fadahunsi, over his controversial comment calling for the “killing” of members of the Accord Party ahead of Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

The development comes just two days before the 15 August Osun State governorship election, in which Mr Fadahunsi’s All Progressives Congress (APC) is challenging the Accord Party, which is fielding second term-seeking Governor Adeleke.

The magistrate’s directive is contained in a letter titled, ‘Direct Criminal Complaint Between Pelumi Olajengbesi and Senator Francis Fadahunsi Brought Pursuant to Section 89(5) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015.
