Jigawa varsity issues two-week strike ultimatum

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (SLUK) branch, has issued a two-week ultimatum to the Jigawa State Government to implement the new university salary structure or face a full-scale industrial action.“To resolve the impasse quickly, the state government has convened an emergency meeting involving top officials, including the Attorney-General, the Accountant-General, and the Commissioner for Higher Education, alongside union representatives.“Should the Government fail to address these issues at the expiration of the two-week ultimatum, the union would be left with no option but to embark on a strike,” the statement read.
