Highlighting the growth in the competition’s financial rewards, CAF said in a statement released on its website on Wednesday that the winners’ prize money had increased by 900 per cent since the current leadership took office.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has doubled the winners’ prize money for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) from $1 million to $2 million ahead of the final between Malawi and Cameroon.
