Focus on infrastructure not 2027 election, Ebonyi indigenes tell Nwifuru

The group’s President, Ambassador Paschal Oluchukwu, in a statement on Thursday, said the governor’s preoccupation with a second term would prove more wasteful for the State given his failure to deliver visible infrastructure over three years in office.

The group’s position was hinged on a viral video showing the Senate’s Deputy Chief Whip, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, inspecting a two-span bridge linking Odomoke and Ekelibe communities in Ebonyi Local Government Area, during which he and an expatriate contractor flagged a failed section of the structure being built by the State’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Concession.“AEISCID implores the government to focus more energy on supervising the numerous projects it has embarked upon without completion to ensure its swift and speedy delivery rather than channel its energy to the politics of 2027 and the re-election of the governor for another term in office which could prove more wasteful,” the statement read.
