Family of US woman shot by immigration officer sues government

By GhanaSummary NewsroomSouth Africa

The family of Renée Good, an American woman shot dead by a United States immigration officer, has filed two civil lawsuits against the federal government and immigration officials.

The federal official said he acted in self-defence, but a viral video showed Good turning her vehicle away as she attempted to drive off when the officer shot and killed her.

She was shot in her car by an officer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, known as ICE.
