Fake Agency Probe: State House denies authorising council creation, FRSC admits number plate issuance

Representing the Permanent Secretary of the State House, the Director of Administration, Abdulkadri Idris, told the lawmakers that the Presidency neither established nor approved the council and had no knowledge of any correspondence requesting the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation to generate a budget code for it.

At the committee’s investigative hearing on Thursday at the National Assembly in Abuja, officials of the State House and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) appeared before lawmakers to explain their involvement in the council’s activities, which are alleged to have operated without legal authorisation.“The Accountant-General responded to an office that the State House says does not exist, while the name of the signatory, Akande Adewale, is absent from all official records submitted to this committee,” Mr Gagdi said.
