Egypt, Jordan FMs discuss Sinai bus crash, facilitation for Jordanian victims

Jordanian flag at Al Karak castle (Central Jordan 2019) - Paul Arps/Flickr Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Wednesday September 2,2026 with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Minister Ayman Safadi to convey the sincere condolences of the Egyptian government and people to Jordan over a passenger bus crash that occurred earlier in the day on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in South Sinai, leaving several people dead and injured.

He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Egyptian government for its solidarity and cooperation during the difficult circumstances, as well as for the assistance provided in following up on the condition of the injured and transferring the victims’ bodies.

He affirmed that the relevant Egyptian authorities were providing all necessary assistance to care for the injured and complete arrangements for transferring the bodies of the Jordanian victims to Jordan.
