Eastern Cape community unites to rebuild fire-ravaged classrooms
The community of Ngqeleni in the Eastern Cape has joined hands to raise funds for the refurbishment of three classrooms at Ngqeleni Senior Secondary School.
Entrepreneur Vusumzi Yase said, “We have decided as the people of the community and business sector to embark on rebuilding the school that was burnt by fire in 2018 and as united business people decided to raise funds to rebuild the school because we believe that the processes are taking too long to correct the situation.” Eastern Cape Education Department Spokesperson Malibongwe Mtima says the school is earmarked in the 2026/2027 budget for rebuilding.
