DA to boycott no-confidence vote against Lobishe

By GhanaSummary NewsroomSouth Africa

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced that it will not take part in the vote of no confidence motion to be tabled against Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor, Babalwa Lobishe, and her deputy, Gary van Niekerk, during a council meeting today.

Briefing the media ahead of the council meeting, DA MP Andrew Whitfield says the motion of no confidence is driven by petty politics and will cause unnecessary instability.

The DA cannot participate in a process that will invite more chaos and increasingly declining service delivery to the people of Nelson Mandela Bay,” explains Whitfield.
