CSO commends Tinubu over intervention in Osun government accounts
By Johnbosco Agbakwuru ABUJA — The Civil Society Coalition for Human Equality Initiative (CSCHEI), a United Nations-recognised platform of accredited civil society organisations (CSOs) and community-based organisations (CBOs), has commended President Bola Tinubu for directing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to vacate the court order freezing the Osun State Government’s accounts.
He also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for what he described as a responsive intervention, saying it reflected a willingness to listen to concerns and ensure that the Osun State Government’s accounts were unfrozen without political interference.
He said the coalition recognised the commission’s responsibility to investigate suspected financial misconduct and maintained that any account found to be suspicious should be subjected to due legal process without political interference.
