Candidates’ Upload: Opposition not ready for 2027 Polls, APC reacts to INEC’s deadline extension
By Omeiza Ajayi ABUJA: The ruling All Progressives Congress APC has said the failure of opposition political parties to meet the Independent National Electoral Commission’s INEC deadline for the submission of names of candidates for the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections exposes their unpreparedness.
In a statement on Sunday, the APC said it successfully met INEC’s deadline for the submission of names of its candidates, despite the large number of party candidates contesting on its platform for the various elective offices.
The APC described as ironical the fact that the same opposition parties had repeatedly peddled what it called false, malicious and unfounded tales that the APC controls and dictates INEC’s decisions, yet turned to the same INEC for respite when they failed to meet the submission deadline.
