ASUU-FUK begins non-compliance action over salary reduction
By Ben Ngwakwe, Gombe GOMBE — The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Federal University Kashere, FUK, Branch has commenced an Active Non-Compliance, ANC, action over what it described as the unlawful reduction of members’ salaries by the Federal Government.
The union said the action followed a directive from its National Executive Council, NEC, after efforts to resolve the dispute through the university management failed to yield the desired result.
The union, however, said it remained committed to the welfare of students and the integrity of the university, urging the Federal Government and university management to expedite efforts to resolve the dispute.
