Again, armed herders invade Benue community, shoot resident, loot shops
By Peter Duru, Makurdi Residents of Ankpechi community in Oglewu Ward, along the Otukpo-Ogobia Road in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State, were thrown into panic on Thursday morning after suspected armed herdsmen reportedly invaded the area, shot a resident and looted several provision stores.
Confirming the incident, the Chairman of Ohimini Local Government Area, Mr Gabriel Adole, said the attackers were suspected armed herdsmen.
They shot one person, forcing residents to scamper for safety.
