2027: Labour Party says it met INEC nomination deadline, dismisses contrary reports

By GhanaSummary NewsroomNigeria

By John Alechenu ABUJA — The Labour Party (LP) has denied reports alleging that it failed to upload the names of its presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the close of the nomination portal for the 2027 general elections.

The party also stated that it uploaded the particulars of all its duly nominated National Assembly candidates before the portal closed, adding that the exercise was completed in compliance with INEC’s guidelines.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, said the candidates’ particulars were uploaded on July 10, 2026, four days before the July 14 deadline set by INEC.
