
2027: Four major hurdles threaten Obi–Makinde alliance – Presidential aide
By Johnbosco Agbakwuru ABUJA —AHEAD of the January 16, 2027 presidential election, the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Special Duties, Tunde Rahman has said that four major obstacles could frustrate the emerging rapprochement between the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, involving into a broader opposition alliance.
The presidential aide identified personal ambition, zoning, political structure and trust deficit as the critical hurdles that opposition leaders must overcome if they are to forge a credible coalition against the President.
