Dortmund coach counting on Sancho to deliver again against PSG

Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic is banking on the talents of Jadon Sancho to deliver once again as they face Paris Saint-Germain in the return leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.

Sancho played a pivotal role in Dortmund’s 1-0 victory over PSG in the first leg, setting up an exciting clash for the return match in Paris.

“We have talked about the short-term future.

This is tomorrow, with a very important game, maybe also the biggest game in his career so far,” Terzic told reporters on the eve of the match.

The 24-year-old, who returned to Dortmund on loan from Manchester United in January, has been a standout performer for the Bundesliga side.

Dortmund’s sporting director, Sebastien Kehl, expressed their desire to keep Sancho beyond his loan spell, highlighting his positive impact on the team.

“We are really happy with him.

From all sides, we are happy to have him in our team.

I think you can feel that he is happy to be with us,” Terzic added.

Acknowledging the significance of big players in decisive matches, Terzic believes Sancho has the potential to make a difference in Tuesday’s game.

“We are really feeling that he is in a good way.

I think that big games are decided by big players and tomorrow he [Sancho] will have the opportunity to decide it.”

While Dortmund hold the advantage from the first leg, Terzic emphasised the need for improvement and cautioned against complacency.

Regarding PSG’s ambitions in the Champions League, particularly with Kylian Mbappe’s potential departure, Terzic remains focused on Dortmund’s own aspirations.

“That is their mission, but we also have a big dream and are eager to make it come true,” Terzic stated.

The highly anticipated clash kicks off at the Parc des Princes at 19:00 GMT, promising an enthralling encounter between the two European giants.
