Gov’t will intensify campaign on ‘See something, Say something’ as we approach December 7 – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reiterated the government’s commitment to a peaceful election by intensifying the ‘See something, Say something’ campaign as the country approaches the December 7 polls.

The President emphasised that the government would leave no stone unturned in preserving the peace of the country.

“Government will not leave any stone unturned as we intensify campaigns on the See Something, Say Something.

This initiative, an all-inclusive whole-society campaign, encourages citizens to report suspicious activities to safeguard the peace and security of the country,” said President Akufo-Addo in his May Day address to workers on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Moreover, the President said government has “resourced and reformed” the various governance and security institutions to be “efficient and independent” and ready to discharge their duties.

According to the President, these reforms are imperative in the wake of global terror attacks and socio-economic challenges.

He said, “Despite these challenges, we must remain steadfast to overcome emerging threats.”

However, President Akufo-Addo underscored that securing the peace of the country is not only necessary for the general election but also “vital for the stability of the labour front.”

Presiden Akufo-Addo also commended workers for their input in the growth and success of the country.

He maintained that workers play a significant role in the affairs of the country.

“Your voices matter, your participation is essential,” he said, adding, “Ghana will once again emerge stronger, more united, and more capable and advancing development goals.

Workers as the backbone of our country have a special role to play in shaping our elections.”
