Kotoko resume training session after fans’ disruption

Asante Kotoko under the leadership of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum finally held a successful training session after angry fans prevented them in their previous two sessions.

The club was unable to train on Tuesday and Wednesday when displeased fans distracted the sessions and asked for the dismissal of Prosper Narteh Ogum alongside the rest of rge technical team which they believed had failed to lead the team honourable to reach their aim of the season in the Ghana Premier League.

This led to an emergency meeting summoned by the Life Patron and owner of the club Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II seeking to address any grievance and also to chart a plan to bounce back from the club’s struggles.

After meeting the players, the king emphasised the need for Ogum to continue while charging the players to give their best.

According to him, he will decide on the coach should it appear he is the culprit to the issues affecting Kotoko as already reported.

With all the stakeholders at the meeting looking satisfied with the outcome, they finally trained at Adako Jachie with renewed hope of rebounding as they gear up for their next game against league leaders FC Samartex on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Currently, Kotoko are languishing in the 11th position after 26 games and are three points off the danger zone.

Prosper Ogum remains at the helm, and there is optimism that he can reverse the team’s fortunes, given his track record of guiding the club to Ghana Premier League glory in the 2021/22 season.

According to Kumasi-based media, Otumfuo will later meet only the playing body after their game against the Timber giants in a bid to address any issues hindering the club’s success.
