Akufo-Addo’s ‘azaar’ dams can’t be compared to mine - Mahama

Akufo-Addo’s ‘azaar’ dams can’t be compared to mine - Mahama

- NDC's 2020 presidential candidate, John Mahama has disclosed that God is exposing the NPP government for the lies perpetuated to win election 2016

-Mr. Mahama says the NPP's One Village-One Dam campaign promise made in 2016 is different from what they are currently executing

- He said this while touring the northern part of Ghana

Former president John Dramani Mahama has criticised the Akufo-Addo government over the type of dams being constructed under the One Village-One Dam policy.

According to him, most of the projects look more like dugouts and are therefore not qualified to be called dams.

Speaking to the chiefs and people of Jindabor in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency, Mahama described the dams as “inferior”.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer said the dams lack quality and easily get destroyed whenever it rains.

Always remember that when you deceive people, the reality catches up with you. By God’s grace, the NPP came to power and they have started building what they call dams,” Mahama said.

It turns out that the dams they were talking of are the same dugouts that we were digging under the John Mahama administration.

“Their dams are even of inferior quality because when it rains, the dams are breaking and the water is flowing away.”

The ‘one village, one dam’ was one of the NPP’s major campaign promises going into the 2016 general elections.

Although some of the projects have kicked off, there’s been complaints from some communities of the implementation.

Residents in some communities in the north had complained that most of the dams had either dried up or were not built properly.

For the NPP, some 266 persons have been recommended to the National Executive Committee (NEC) to be cleared to contest the party’s upcoming primaries.
