The New Patriotic Party (NPP), Member of Parliament for Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has disclosed that Ace Investigations Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas deserves to die by hanging.
According to the MP, Anas is even more corrupt than the ‘Angel’ many Ghanaians perceive him to be in line of his undercover investigations.
The NPP MP who appears to be waging war against the Ghanaian undercover journalist after his recent expose claims Anas in line of his work demands heavy charges from some of his victims in order to leave them off the hook.
Speaking on Accra-based Adom FM on Monday, Mr Agyapong insisted that he has in his possession a video evidence with Anas taking bribe.
“I want to establish clearly that Anas is corrupt. If a customs officer should be jailed for 25 years for taking GHc 50, for Anas and the evidence I have about him, he has to be hanged,” the MP said.
The Assin Central MP who was clearly not happy added that, “We have to hang Anas for the evil things he has done to Ghanaians in the course of his investigations, which he has used to amass wealth in Ghana.”
Kennedy Agyapong in his conversation further insisted that Anas had no moral grounds to investigate acts of alleged corruption.
“If I tell somebody he is corrupt, I should make sure I am genuine before I point my finger at someone,” the MP stated.
Anas is in the spotlight ahead of his is documentary expose of corruption in Ghana football.
Kennedy Agyapong has already been criticized for inciting violence against the journalist over his fight against corruption.
Anas has been widely commended over his recent expose which has implicated the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantaky, in alleged corruption scandal.
Mr Nyantakyi is said to have used the name of the President, the Vice President and other senior officers of the government to lure some foreign investors interested in establishing businesses in Ghana.
The GFA boss is currently under investigations by the Criminal Department of the Ghana Police Service.
