Asante Kotoko striker Steven Mukwala is determined to make his mark by aiming for the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League Golden Boot.

With passion in his voice, he expressed his eagerness to score more goals and clinch the prestigious award.

“As a striker, if you want to see that you are improving, you have to fight and at least equal the number you scored last season or go beyond that so we still have five more games to go (in the league),” Mukwala shared with the club’s media team.

With 11 goals to his name and just one shy of the league’s top scorers, Hamza Issah of Hearts of Oak and Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea, who have 13 and 12 goals respectively, Mukwala is determined to close the gap and seize the Golden Boot.

“This gives me the motivation and the belief that at least I see the ultimate goal which is taking the golden boot,” Mukwala added, emphasizing his commitment to achieving his goal.

Amidst Mukwala’s personal aspirations, Asante Kotoko is also striving for success as a team.

Despite a challenging start to the second round of the competition, the Porcupine Warriors are determined to finish the season on a high note.

Sitting in 10th place on the table, they are focused on maximizing their remaining games to secure a top-half finish.

With Mukwala leading the charge in front of goal, Asante Kotoko aims to end the season with a flourish and make their mark in the Ghana Premier League.
