USM Alger request CAF to postpone Confederation Cup finals between RS Berkane and Zamalek

It seems USM Alger and the Algerian Football Federation are not letting this case die anytime soon.

The Algerian side USM Alger has asked CAF to postpone the Confederation Cup final between RS Berkane and Zamalek SC till the final verdict from CAS with regards to the semi-finals second-leg game that didn’t happen in Morocco.

The Moroccan side RS Berkane was awarded a 6-0 aggregate with 3-0 each in both legs over USM Alger.

None of both legs was played due to a misunderstanding between Algeria and Morocco, politically, over the rightful owner of Western Sahara.

The Algerians remain optimistic that they have a genuine case and want CAF to exercise patience by postponing the finals of the Confederation Cup.

Zamalek and RS Berkane are preparing to square off for the finals which are scheduled to take place in Morocco on 12th May for the first leg.
