CONFIRMED: Legon Stadium to host 2024 MTN FA Cup final

Wilson Arthur, has disclosed that the newly-constructed University of Ghana Stadium will play host to the final of the 2023/24 league cup.

The decision comes as the competition advances to the semi-final stage, with anticipation mounting for the ultimate showdown.

The Legon Stadium, boasting a capacity of 10,000 seats, emerged as the chosen venue.

Its recent completion aligns with the vision of providing top-tier facilities for sporting events.

Originally under government auspices, the stadium is rumored to have been entrusted to the University of Ghana authorities, signaling a shift away from National Sports Authority oversight.

In an exclusive interview with Akoma FM in Kumasi, Mr.

He outlined the journey to selecting the Legon Stadium, highlighting the challenges encountered with alternative venues before settling on the optimal choice.

“After further discussions, we changed our original plan to hold the semi-finals and finals at the newly constructed Tarkwa TNA Stadium and Legon Stadium, respectively.

However, the TNA stadium was not ready.

“We thought about going to Samarboi, but after some consultations, we decided that going to the Volta would be more helpful, so we went back to our backup plan, which was Sogakope”

As the MTN FA Cup progresses to the semi-final stage, fervor intensifies among the remaining four teams vying not only for championship glory but also a coveted CAF Confederations Cup berth.
