Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has denied ever influencing referees at the Referees Committee in CAF.

The former RS Berkane president, Fouzi Lekjaa has been accused of manipulating referees for Morocco national teams and clubs in their respective competitions.

“If I had the power to intervene in the appointment of referees to officiate in any game, Morocco would have won the AFCON many times.

“There hasn’t been any Moroccan official on CAF’s referees appointment committee,” said Lekjaa.

The 53-year-old president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation has made it clear to everyone that he doesn’t influence any decision by the referees.

Algeria’s state media has been accusing Lekjaa of “corruption” and “manipulation” and it led to a campaign across social media platforms demanding Lekjaa’s exit from the CAF Committee.

Currently, Lekjaa has a huge role in the administration of CAF as he is the Chairman of the CAF Finance Committee.
