Club legend Dan Quaye issues dire warning as Hearts of Oak players face threat of curses amid relegation crisis

Former Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye has issued a sobering caution, hinting at potential repercussions should the club tumble into relegation from the Ghana Premier League.

Despite their storied legacy as one of Africa’s premier teams, Hearts of Oak has encountered a turbulent season marked by adversity.

With a string of four defeats in their last five matches, they now teeter perilously just four points clear of the relegation zone, with only six games left in the season.

This season’s tribulations aren’t an aberration but rather a recurring theme, with the club flirting with relegation in recent times.

Quaye underscored the significance of the players safeguarding the esteemed reputation of the former African champions.

“If these players continue with their reckless conduct and allow Hearts of Oak to descend into relegation, they risk invoking a curse, considering Hearts has never finished higher than tenth during our tenure,” he cautioned on Akoma FM.

He emphasized, “But these players have tarnished every notable achievement the team has attained, so it’s imperative they set things right.

Otherwise, we Ga’s and Ashanti’s will not hesitate to cast curses upon them if they opt to relegate us.”

“They must approach their responsibilities with utmost seriousness because their performance directly dictates our current predicament.”

Quaye drew parallels with the downfall of Santos, a renowned Brazilian club, expressing apprehension that his beloved Hearts of Oak could suffer a similar fate.

Despite boasting an illustrious history, with 21 league titles, a record 12 FA Cup victories, and triumphs in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, Hearts of Oak finds themselves in a precarious situation this season.
