Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta facing Thomas Partey’s transfer dilemma after Chelsea masterclass

Despite delivering an impressive performance in Arsenal’s 5-0 victory over Chelsea, the Ghanaian international might be heading for an exit from the club this summer.

Arsenal has been actively seeking to offload Thomas Partey for some time now, with efforts to sell him intensifying last summer.

Despite this, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen on retaining Partey, emphasizing his importance to the team.

Arteta had previously asserted that both Partey and Declan Rice could coexist in the midfield, as he sees the need for competition and quality depth in the squad.

“They was in my plans,” he said when asked if the pair could play together all the way back in July.

“If you want to improve the squad and have more quality, we need more players who can play together and need players in the same positions who have to fight for their places.

It’s something we haven’t had in the last few years.”
