“Things will be very different in the return match, especially with the grass”- Zamalek coach Jose Gomes

The game ended goalless in the first leg and it means that the tie is very open.

Dreams FC will have a home advantage while Zamalek will be backed by the away goal rule.

After the goalless draw, Zamalek SC’s Portuguese head coach, Jose Gomes disclosed how his side could not play their normal game.

“We missed speed and playing our way against Dreams,” said the Portuguese boss after the game.

“There were some technical errors and we did not play optimally, but we had many positions that qualified us to win and decide the match,” disclosed Gomes.

The head coach rued his side’s inability to decide the game.

“Unfortunately, we were not able to achieve victory and the first half of the semi-final match ended,” he added.

“We now need to focus and play the second half well in Ghana.

“Things will be very different in the return match, especially with the grass, humidity and temperature, and even if things are like that, I trust the players,” he said.

The conditions that the game was played under in the first leg will not be the same as the weather in Kumasi is different from the one in Cairo.

We had many chances and did not score, and we may score in Ghana, even if at least one goal,” concluded Gomes.

The gaffer believes Zamalek will at least score a goal when they meet Dreams FC on Sunday.

The second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup is scheduled to take place on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium at 4 pm.
