CAF Confederation Cup: Dreams FC travels to Cairo to face Zamalek

Dreams striker Simba Sylvester was very honest in accepting that Zamalek is a tough side ahead of the two teams Caf Confederation Cup semifinals first leg clash this weekend in Egypt.

“Playing against Zamalek tomorrow will be tough, but we will remain focused and do everything we can to achieve good results”, these were the words of Dreams striker Simba Silverster in an interview with his club.

Zamalek is one of the greatest teams on the continent as they have been in inter-club competitions since its inception.

This is Dreams FC’s ever campaign in Africa and they are playing against one of the giants in the semi-finals.

It’s simply a David and Goliath affair.

Both teams qualified after being made to work hard in the quarter-finals.

Karim Zito’s Dreams are in much confidence after beating Asante Kotoko 2-0 in the Ghana Premier League before travelling to Egypt.

Zamalek also defeated Al Ahly, their perennial rivals 2-1 in the finals of the Egyptian Cup before this game.

The Cairo-based club looks the favourite but Dreams FC can never be underestimated on Sunday.

The experienced John Antwi who knows all about Egyptian football after a successful career with Al Ahly and Pyramids will lead Dreams in Cairo.

Youngster Abdul Aziz Issah and Agyenim Boateng Mensah will support the veteran striker in attack.

Godfred Atuahene and Emmanuel Agyei will be in the middle for Dreams in Cairo.

Zamalek still has quality with the likes of Zizo, Dunga, Jaziri, Hamdi, Obama and Shikabala all available.
