Ex-Ghana star Samuel Inkoom recounts how a Kotoko fan dashed him his first car in Kumasi

Samuel Inkoom, a former defender for Asante Kotoko, recently shared a heartwarming story about a devoted supporter who went out of his way to express gratitude for Inkoom’s contributions to the club.

After a league match against King Faisal, Inkoom was approached by a fan seeking to meet him.

Little did he know that this encounter would lead to an extraordinary display of appreciation.

“Inkoom recounted, “We played a game against King Faisal and after the game, I heard that someone was looking for me.

I met him and he asked that I hang around for a while before going home.

I obliged and he asked me to follow him,” he narrated in an interview with Angel FM.

“He took me to a garage at Santasi roundabout and gifted me one of the cars.

He told me that he had followed me since I signed for Kotoko and had been impressed with my performance for the club so that was his way of showing appreciation.”

Despite being unfamiliar with the generous fan, Inkoom gratefully accepted the gift and managed to drive it home, despite his initial hesitance due to his limited driving experience.

Inkoom later discovered that the fan’s name was Prince, and the two developed a strong bond, maintaining regular contact and fostering a meaningful relationship.

“I wasn’t a good driver then but I managed to drive it home.

We keep in touch constantly.”

Samuel Inkoom’s time with Asante Kotoko from 2008 to 2009 left a lasting impact on both him and the club, with this touching gesture from a dedicated supporter serving as a testament to the profound connection between players and fans in the world of football.
