Ghanaian defenders, Alidu Seidu, Mohammed Salisu see red card in Uganda stalemate

Mohammed Salisu and Alidu Seidu were shown red cards during Ghana’s match against Uganda on Tuesday.

As a result, Ghana ended the friendly game with only nine players on the field.

Although the match ended in a 2-2 draw, both Salisu and Seidu were sent off due to their disagreement with the referee.

Seidu specifically requested a yellow card for a Ugandan player who had fouled Tariq Lamptey in the final minute of the game.

Despite the whistle being blown for a free kick, Seidu persistently argued with the referee, which ultimately led to him receiving a red card.

Even after the match, Seidu continued to express his frustration, and it was only with the intervention of team manager Ameenu Shadow that he finally left the pitch.

Salisu, on the other hand, also received a red card for his actions and words towards the referee.

Afterwards, he walked off the field and made his way to the bench and eventually the dressing room.

The two red cards in the match against Uganda mean that Ghana has accumulated a total of three red cards in the international window of March.

Ghana’s new coach, Otto Addo, had emphasized the need for a disciplined leader figure.

However, the three red cards in his first two games are not a positive sight.
