Karim Zito urges patience and support for Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum amid losing streak

Former Asante Kotoko player and current Dreams FC coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has appealed to the club’s fans to exercise patience and rally behind under-pressure head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

The Ghanaian giants have endured a turbulent period, suffering four consecutive defeats in the Ghana Premier League, with their latest setback being a narrow 1-0 loss to city rivals, Nations FC.

The string of poor results has sparked discontent among the club’s supporters, with calls for Ogum’s dismissal growing louder.

Reports suggest that the club has given the coach three games to reverse their fortunes or face the sack.

However, Zito, speaking on Akoma FM, has come to the defense of his colleague, emphasizing the ongoing rebuilding process at Asante Kotoko.

“The IMC expressed their intentions very clearly before the start of the season that they are rebuilding,” Zito stated.

“Although the team is currently rebuilding, but the fans, regrettably, are goal-oriented.

However, I’ll beg the supporters to be patient with the coach.

After all, this is the same coach who dropped three or four games at the start of the season and later bounced back to a winning streak, and that’s football for you.”

Zito’s plea for patience comes as Asante Kotoko finds themselves in unfamiliar territory, currently sitting ninth on the league table after being in third place just five match weeks ago.
