In the Czech top flight, Ghanaian player Patrick Kpozo had an unfortunate moment when he scored an own goal in FC Banik Ostrava’s 3-1 defeat to FC Slovan Liberec on Sunday.

Early in the game, Banik Ostrava showed some promise in their attacking efforts.

In the ninth minute, Ewerton delivered an interesting direct kick into the Liberec penalty area, and both Eneo Bitri and Patrick Kpozo were ready to take a shot.

Tragedy struck in the 23rd minute when a dangerous cross was delivered in front of Banik’s goal

In an attempt to clear the ball to safety, Patrik Kpozo unintentionally headed it into his own net, giving Liberec a 1-0 lead.

Banik managed to pull one back with a consolation goal scored by Daniel Tetour from the penalty spot.
