Mohammed Salisu only player with fitness concern ahead of Angola tie – Chris Hughton

Head of the senior national team, Chris Hughton, has cast doubt over Mohammed Salisu’s participation in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola.

The Black Stars play the first of two games at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday seeking to secure all three points before travelling to Luanda for the reverse fixture.

In his presser before the game, Hughton said all but Salisu is match fit for the encounter as the centre-back has not played so much in recent times for Southampton.

“Our only injury concern is Salisu; he’s a doubt for the game because he’s suffered some recent injuries at his club,” he told the media at a presser ahead of his first game as the head coach of the team.

Salisu’s last game was in the 3-3 Stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
