Maxwell Abbey-Quaye returns to Ghana after deal with Serbian club FK Loznica falls through

The deal between former Great Olympics star Maxwell Abbey Quaye and Serbian outfit  FK Loznica has fallen through.

The experienced striker left for the Scandinavian nation to negotiate with FK Lonica, but it did not worked out.

It is for this reason the forward has opted to return to the country, with chances of turning out for Great Olympics next season high.

Abbey Quaye began training with Loznica football club and he was announced by the club’s official social media handles but could not sign the deal in what the player describes as unfortunate

The 25-year-old explains in an interview with Adehye3 FM in Kumasi that the club after their welcoming posts on their social media handles was supposed to present to him the contract to be signed the next day but the club president who was masterminding his deal was ‘unfortunately’ sacked.

Quaye further stated that he has been in talks with some local clubs with Great Olympics the frontrunners but he is still focusing on securing a move abroad to continue his development.

In 61 Ghana Premier League games for Olympics, Quaye scored 23 goals and registered two assists but was inactive for much of last season after his contract expiration with the Dade Boys.
