Chris Hughton promises to watch more Ghana Premier League matches

Chris Hughton, the newly appointed Black Stars coach, has pledged to spend more time in Ghana to closely monitor the Ghana Premier League and other domestic competitions.

He assured the audience at his unveiling that he would be watching more games and paying more attention to the GPL games, stating that having a strong national league was important.

This is a significant departure from previous Black Stars coaches who were accused of neglecting the local league and not even watching the games

By monitoring the Ghana Premier League and other domestic competitions, Hughton’s commitment could lead to more opportunities for local players to showcase their talents and earn call-ups to the national team

Hughton’s first test will come on Thursday when the Black Stars face Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
