Despite gaining promotion to the Ghana Premier League after 16 years, Bofoakwa Tano will now have to appoint a new head coach to lead them in the top flight.
The Tano-based club enjoyed their Division One League campaign under Fuseini Abubakar who was instrumental in their progress to the Premier League.
However, Fuseini would have to be sidelined when Bofoakwa play in the league next season as he does not hold the needed certificate to enable him to be on the touchline. The coach currently has a License B certificate which is not enough to guarantee him an appearance in the top flight.
He made the revelation in an interview with Joy Sports.
“It is very disappointing to qualify with the club and not continue at the Premier [League] level. You will feel [the disappointment,” he said.
“That is the rules of Club Licensing but we are pleading with them to speed up things for us to give us the opportunity to go and do the License A Course so we can get that opportunity to sit in the dugout for the Premier League matches.”
With this known, Bofoakwa Tano will now need to be in the market not only for players but also to search for a new coach who will help them in the Premier League.
