Ghanaian international midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has revealed why he joined Racing Club de Lens in the summer of 2022 ahead of the 2022-23 season.
The midfielder says he joined the club because the club really wanted his signature in the transfer window which led to his move away from Clermont Foot 63 FC.
According to him, the style of play of the Red and Yellows outfit is one of the reasons why he decided to join them despite interest from other clubs.
Reflecting on his decision, Samed told , “Yes, he [Franck Haise] was the one who called my agents.”
“He was really interested and wanted me to come, so then my agents spoke to the club,” he told Get French Football News.
“I wanted to come as well, because I felt it was the club that could allow me to improve and move forward, and I liked their style of play. I picked Lens, but there were other clubs interested as well.”
He has been one of the most important players for the club this season as they are one win away from qualifying for the 2023-24 UEFA Champions League.
