Accra Hearts of Oak SC defender Caleb Amankwah has talked down claims about the club playing a match of convenience against Medeama SC last Sunday.
The versatile player claims the players of the Rainbow Boys club will never take money and engage in a match of convenience.
“Claims that we were influenced by money or played a match of convenience can never be true.”
“Hearts of Oak is a big club and as a player,you cannot invite problems for yourself and a big club as such by playing a match of compromise.”
No one said anything to us before or after the game to influence us,they defeated us on fair grounds”, he told Oyerepa FM.
Hearts of Oak were thrashed 5-1 at home by Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League week 31 clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Before the match, a lot was said about the game as Football connoisseurs suspected a match of convenience before the game as Medeama are seen as Hearts friends who are chasing for the title.
With the victory, Medeama moved top of the league table with 31 matches with 53 points.
