Pochettino: PSG have to have a different attitude against Bayern than against Barcelona

Mauricio Pochettino has warned his Paris Saint-Germain players to be more attentive in their Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich than they had been against Barcelona.

PSG hold a 3-2 lead over Bayern ahead of their return leg in Paris on Tuesday, and they'll have to take on the European and world champions with doubts still hanging over Marco Verratti and Marquinhos' fitness.

"We've got to have a different attitude to the one we had in the second leg against Barcelona," Pochettino said at his Monday press conference. "We have to defend, but also to get on the ball and attack them, that's our challenge.

"Barcelona is already in the past. Bayern are a different team, they're the best int he world and will create problems for us, as they did in the first leg.

"We have to be able to manage those moments of difficulty, just like in Munich."

Without Icardi

Pochettino will have to do without Mauro Icardi, while Verratti and Marquinhos are both nursing concerns of their own. As things stand, the Brazilian is unlikely to start the game at the Parc des Princes.

"The champions are always the favourites in theory," Pochettino added. "They're the best team in the world at the moment and have just won six titles. We have to respect that.

"If we go through it'll be special for this club. Our aspiration is always to win trophies."
